Princess Raetsel and her Shining Knight - Contest

My entry for 's January contest, "What if there was a different Princess?"

I chose Raetsel, Fakir's mother/big-sister figure, because I thought she was so lovely and gentle ...
... and she's a highly underrepresented character, in my opinion!

Here's some background information about her from the Tutu Wikia article:

"Raetsel knew Fakir ever since he was a child and served as a motherly figure for him. ... She was the one who told Duck about Fakir's power of making stories come true, and hoped that he would write a story for her that would solve her romantic problems. In the end, Fakir did write a story for Raetsel, but it did not come true."

I think that if Raetsel was chosen to be Princess Tutu, she and Fakir would have worked together from the beginning (given that they both knew each others' secrets). While Fakir and Ahiru had to slowly build their relationship, Fakir and Raetsel had a deep bond to begin with. Fakir would finally be able to write Raetsel's story, because she was Tutu; and she'd encourage him to do so, since she knew of his ability! And I truly feel like her kind heart would undoubtedly lead the story to a happy ending. c':

In this portrait, I tried to illustrate the mother/son brother/sister bond between Fakir and Raetsel; to show that Raetsel is nurturing to Fakir, and Fakir is comforted by Raetsel's guidance. With her as Princess Tutu, that role would be amplified; and the two of them would become codependent, each relying on the other to bring the story to a peaceful end. The Princess and her Knight, working together in harmony. c':
